Awakening your Inner Warrior

Be a Warrior, not a Worrier

In the past five years, the world has been flipped upside down—and shaken from side to side—so many times that we've lost count. I admit, I’ve fallen into a state of constant worry, consumed by everything from politics to climate change, to the wars around the world and the rising violence on our streets. All the stress and worry can be overwhelming, and if you let it, it will drag you down. But instead of letting it control you, try not to live in fear and passivity. Let it be the wake-up call we desperately need, urging us to take action and create a more harmonious world.

As I reflect on today’s JEMM, Awaken Your Warrior, I recognize that while fear has taken hold at times, I also honor myself for staying true to this project and my dreams. Deep in my heart, I know that this is my contribution to society. Creating Opulence and Opulence Vision are, at their core, about training myself to live more sustainably and holistically, while also inspiring others to embrace sustainability in their own lives.

The world is crying for us to take control, and bring Heaven back on this planet. We need to have faith that we have the ability to mold this world, from every choice, to every purchase, to how we interact with others, and how we maintain our own lives and bodies. I wrote a post long ago that emphasized that if you want to save the world, you must first save yourself. We are all part of this planet, and by healing and strengthening the part of the planet that we have been gifted with in this lifetime, we are healing the planet and bring harmony back.

There’s a quote I keep coming across, and it resonates deeply with me: "If you don’t know what to pursue right now, pursue yourself."  The world is full of problems that need solving, and there’s no shortage of things we can do to help. If you’re reading this, I sense you are part of the incredible group of people who want to make a difference—and that is truly amazing! The world is in dire need of your your commitment, confidence and courage to step into your inner strength.

Master Your Body

If you find yourself caught in the web of decision paralysis, as I often do, may I suggest something? Start by focusing on yourself. Nourish your body with the healthiest food possible. Strengthen and stretch your body to maintain mobility and power. Sharpen your mind so it works at its peak.

When we commit to mastering ourselves, our capacity to contribute to the world becomes clearer and more achievable. We may even cross paths with fellow warriors on the same journey—simply by working on ourselves first.

As for me, I’m committing to a regular exercise and nutrition plan. This is the promise I made to Mother Earth when Pan passed away—I told her I would prepare myself to be baby-ready. And this year, I am fully dedicating myself to becoming the healthiest version of me. Even if this doesn’t lead to a pregnancy, I’m committed to becoming as fit and strong as possible because I know that the path ahead of me—whether it’s launching Opulence Vision, sharing these JEMMs, or organizing retreats—requires it. I can only manifest the life I envision by showing the world that diet and exercise have the power to transform your life in ways you never thought possible.

When you commit to mastering your body every day, mastering everything else in your life becomes manageable - you have more energy, you have the confidence in committing to a health routine, your mind is sharper, and you have a better connection with your body. Mastering your body is the first step in embodying your inner Warrior. I have wrote a post dedicated to discussing the 3 components to a well-rounded fitness plan, that you can find HERE. If you are looking to build a new fitness routine for this year, you're welcomed to consider the 3 components of Fitness - Strength, Cardio and Flexibility/Mobility. I have added a page from the Creating Opulence activity book to help you plan out your workouts. Now remember, you don't need a membership at a gym, you can get a perfectly effective workout at home with the proper planning.

Fitness Log Instructions:

Welcome to your daily fitness journey! Use this log to track your progress and stay focused on your goals. Each day, you’ll record your intentions for the following categories:

  1. Warm-Up: Write down your goal for your warm-up. This could include dynamic stretches, light cardio, or other activities to prepare your body for the workout ahead. Example: "5-minute brisk walk" or "10 minutes of dynamic stretches."

  2. Strength Training: Specify which muscle groups you will focus on for your strength training today. Examples include legs, back, glutes, abs, or arms. Be specific about the exercises you plan to do, and feel free to get creative with your movements! Example: "Legs – Squats, lunges, calf raises" or "Arms – Push-ups, dumbbell curls, triceps dips."

  3. Cardio: Set your cardio goal for the day. This can range from running, cycling, swimming, dancing, or any activity that gets your heart rate up. Be specific about the duration or distance. Example: "Run a mile," "Dance for 30 minutes," or "Cycle 5 miles."

  4. Mobility/Flexibility: Set your intention for mobility or flexibility work to improve your range of motion and recovery. This can include yoga, tai chi, martial arts, or even a specific stretching routine. Example: "20-minute yoga class," "30-minute primal movement exercises," or "1 hour of tai chi."

After setting your goals for the day, outline the specific exercises you'll use to achieve those goals. Be sure to track the number of sets and reps completed for each exercise. This helps you stay accountable and measure progress over time. Additionally, there are sections for you to jot down what you’ve eaten and track your daily water intake to ensure proper hydration.

You’ll also find a space to note your mood for the day. By tracking your emotional state, you can observe how your fitness journey influences your mental and emotional well-being.

If this is your first time creating a fitness log, it may feel a bit challenging at first, but with consistency, it will become second nature. For added support, consider working with a personal trainer who can design a program tailored to your needs and help keep you motivated.

Bury Your Boomerangs

As I worked today on the JEMM entitled "Awaken Your Warrior" and started writing about committing to a nutrition and fitness routine, I felt the urge to get up and go for a long walk (I’ve been pretty sedentary recently). Before heading out, I reviewed the chapter I had outlined for the JEMM, and it mentioned Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence Others for the Modern Era. To accompany me on my walk, I decided to listen to the audiobook, which I found on Spotify during the holidays.

How to Win Friends and Influence Others was actually the first audiobook I ever downloaded when that technology was still new. I listened to it constantly while doing chores, letting the words seep into my bones. Those lessons, back in 2008, helped launch me into a more collaborative phase of my life. I had moved out on my own for the first time and became more social than ever, developing real, meaningful connections. The teachings from that audiobook were essential in helping me learn how to genuinely connect with others.

Now, listening to the new version of the book, during a time when I’ve been particularly heated in debates online, it served as a perfect reflection. It reminded me that I’m here to collaborate, not to isolate. One quote that really stood out to me was the idea that, to be an effective leader, you must “bury your boomerangs.” This means that before making bold statements or communicating—especially online—take a step back and consider who it will affect and how it will be received. Often, we think we’re fighting a battle that matters, but we may actually be causing more division, rather than fostering understanding and connection.

Lately, I’ve found myself speaking out on a number of issues—so much so that I’ve ruffled feathers and now feel uncertain about where I’m truly welcomed. This has been a humbling realization: to step into my Warrior-self, I need to commit fully to the mission at hand. This means understanding that I have a unique purpose to fulfill, and not every battle is mine to fight. While it’s important to stay informed and aware, I’ve come to realize that many of these external issues don’t require my immediate involvement. They need to take a step back in my awareness so that I can focus my energy on the work that aligns with my true calling.

Bury the Boomerang: A Warrior’s Approach to Communication

To move from a Worrier to a Warrior, one essential skill is learning to “Bury the Boomerangs,” a concept inspired by Dale Carnegie. This phrase invites us to consider the potential ripple effects of our words, especially in the fast-paced, emotionally charged realm of online communication.

A boomerang, when thrown carelessly, returns with force—and often unpredictably. Similarly, when we make statements, post opinions, or engage in debates without reflection, our words can circle back in unintended ways, causing harm, misunderstanding, or unnecessary conflict.

To embody your inner Warrior, you must cultivate discernment in communication. A Warrior knows that their energy is precious and chooses battles wisely. They pause to ask:

  • Will my words uplift, inform, or inspire?

  • Are these my battles to fight, or am I diverting energy from my true purpose?

  • How will this impact the people involved, including myself?

Stepping into Warrior Strength

Being a Warrior means striving to create positive impacts through your actions and communication. It’s not about avoiding conflict entirely but choosing engagements that align with your higher purpose. This often means putting down fights that are not your own and focusing on what truly matters—your mission, your growth, and your contributions to the world.

By “burying the boomerangs,” you free yourself from the distractions of unnecessary conflicts and step fully into your Warrior-self: grounded, purposeful, and ready to channel your energy into meaningful change.

Awaken Your Warrior JEMM

When designing the JEMM for this intention, I wanted to create a space where we can all truly embody our inner Warriors, no matter where we are on our journey. Whether you're just starting out as a novice Warrior, taking your first steps toward mastery, or you're a more seasoned Warrior with experience under your belt, there's room for growth and strength at every stage.

Advanced Warriors offer a quiet confidence, serving as examples for the novice group. Their movements speak volumes, inspiring others to stand tall and trust that they are on the right path. At the same time, the novice Warriors are embracing their role, summoning the courage within to create a life that feels authentic and true to who they are.

If you're reading this, take a moment to connect with your inner Warrior. How does it feel to awaken this strength within you? How can you empower yourself even more? What are you here to protect and defend? What actions make you feel most courageous? Whatever your answers may be, I am grateful you’re here and that you’ve allowed these words to resonate within your life.

May your inner Warrior rise up with strength and passion.

Now, go conquer the world!
