Dark Times Call for You to Feed Your Spirit and Starve Your Shadow
As the world becomes more volitile with a new crisis popping up every couple of months, I feel it is time to get serious with building my Superhero body. Your body (physical, mental and spiritual bodies combined) will ALWAYS be your home, and when you commit to taking care of the home your soul has been gifted with, you become more capable of taking care of everything else around you. Building your hero-self really starts with the food that you are consciously choosing to create your body out of.

The intention behind the JEMM, Feed Your Spirit, is to guide us away from the inputs that nurture our Shadow and toward those that build our inner Hero. This includes reexamining our relationship with food.
For many of us, processed foods have become a staple, not only because of their convenience but also due to their addictive nature, fueled by additives, salt, and sugar. While these foods were originally created to preserve ingredients and extend shelf life, they've evolved into profit-driven products, often at the expense of our health.
The good news is, we can break free. By becoming mindful of what we consume, we can shift from dependency on processed foods to nourishing ourselves with whole, life-giving ingredients. This is especially crucial as we see the impact on younger generations, with rising health issues like diabetes and other chronic conditions.
Every choice we make to feed our spirit—whether it’s savoring a vibrant salad, cooking with love, or learning about the food we eat—is a step toward reclaiming our health and vitality. Together, we can rewrite the narrative and inspire others to do the same.
To embark on this personal health journey, I am committing to eliminating processed foods for at least a month and focusing on a simpler, whole-foods-based diet. There are countless resources and influencers who talk about detoxing, offering a wide range of options, but I believe that when you're starting out, simplicity is key. While it may sound straightforward, making a change like this is anything but easy.
I am fully aware of my own addictive tendencies, particularly when it comes to sugar. Recently, I’ve taken a step back from social interactions to fully immerse myself in completing projects I’ve been procrastinating on. This inward focus has been a necessary step for me; over the years, I’ve absorbed so many energies—from work, socializing, and family—that I needed time to reset.
Yet, in choosing solitude, I’ve also faced moments of loneliness and a diminished sense of love and connection. In those moments, I’ve turned to emotional eating, a habit I believe many can relate to. I’ve found myself seeking comfort in foods that, while emotionally soothing in the moment, are ultimately harmful to my body. Over time, this habit has conditioned my subconscious to associate these foods with comfort and safety. In reality, they are merely a coping mechanism, offering fleeting relief while reinforcing patterns I’m now determined to break.

I have added a simple Nutrition Tracker into the book, Creating Opulence. By writing down everything you are eating, you can see the balance of whole foods vs processed foods that you are injesting on a daily and weekly basis. The challenge I'm giving myself for the next 30 days is to only eat whole foods and any time I write anything down in the processed food section, I will match it with doing a 20 minute HIIT session at home on top of my scheduled workout. This exercise is only as effective as my own honesty in what I'm recording. As this practice is really for me to face my own food addictions and to strengthen my own self-control and discipline, I will also be sharing each and every food item I put in my body in the Instagram stories (opulencevision2025). This will help be stay accountable, and also serve as a personal journal that I can look back on when I want to see how far I've come.

To help recondition the subconscious and rediscover comfort in foods that truly nourish your body, I created this JEMM. It combines powerful visualizations, intentional movement toward health, and a guided eating meditation featuring the simple joy of consuming juicy, vibrant produce. The purpose of this JEMM is to help you embody your inner Hero, empowering you to make conscious choices about what you put into your body.
Remember, what you choose to nourish yourself with is not just about personal health—it’s also a reflection of the kind of world you want to create. By supporting local farmers and food providers at farmers’ markets, you contribute to a more sustainable and connected ecosystem. Every conscious choice, no matter how small, has the power to ripple outward, nourishing not only your body but the planet as well.

Let this journey be a celebration of your strength and an opportunity to align with the vibrant, thriving world you deserve. You are your own Hero, and every step forward is a victory.
