Singing and Dancing with the Tao
In my last post about the Lion’s Gate Portal, I shared why August 8th (8/8) has held deep personal significance for me since 2013. I received this book from two different men I loved dearly, but it wasn’t until that day—when I randomly opened to a page marking the 10th anniversary of the Soul Light Era—that I truly paid attention. It felt less like coincidence and more like a sign. At the risk of sounding like "I'm out there" to some (especially those that are closest to me), I’ve held onto that moment as part of my calling, and I have continued telling this story every year since. I’ve learned the hard way—through both blessings and the bad karma of ignoring it—that a calling is not something to take lightly.
I shared how Mother Earth is in a powerful transition — a rebirth and a shedding all at once — and the signs are impossible to ignore. Natural disasters, financial turmoil, ongoing wars, and famine are not random events; they are mirrors, reflecting the collective shadows we’ve carried for generations. Yet, even in the midst of this darkness, there is light. Master Sha, author of Tao Song and Tao Dance, offers the Four Golden Keys — a path to not only heal our karma, but to renew our relationships, finances, and health. Through Tao Song and Tao Dance, he reminds us that transformation is not only possible, it is our birthright. To define the Tao, Master Sha writes:
"Tao is the Source. Tao is the creator of countless planets, stars, galaxies, and universes. Tao is the creator of Heaven and Mother Earth. Tao is The Way of all life. Tao is the universal principles and laws."
The Power of Tao Song
He also defines both Tao Song and Tao Dance; we will first start with Tao Song:
"Tao Song is song from Source. Source power cannot be explained in words or comprehended by thoughts. Tao Song has already created many miracles...Tao Song carries Tao frequency and vibration with Tao love, forgiveness, compassion, and light that can transform the frequency and vibration of all life."
Before reading this passage, I knew I had already opened my throat chakra and allowed my voice to sing its own Tao Song. Master Sha offers many chants to help individuals clear their karma, because as he says, “you become what you chant.”
I’ll be honest — I’ve tried to keep an open mind and have practiced these chants while living in my studio. While I’m not discounting their validity or effects, I personally didn’t connect with them, partly because they’re in a language my mouth has never spoken before. There was a lot of “forcing” involved for me. Any time there is a sense of force, that is not the Tao. The Tao is often described as the natural flow of life — effortless, spontaneous, and in harmony with the world around you. Anything forced or contrived goes against that flow and creates resistance or imbalance.
In my own experience, Tao Song is when you let your voice go and allow the melody around you to pull a song out of you. It’s hard to describe in words. The first time I experienced this was at a drum circle, where I was invited to join the “Om” circle at the end.
Now, I was never a “good singer” — when I try karaoke, I can hardly hit a note (a bit of a mark of shame as a Filipino tbh). But in that Om circle, surrounded by people I had openly danced with, I kept my heart open. At first, I let out a soft “om” to join, and then somehow it was like my voice was being pulled by the harmony of the energies around me. As I grew more confident to just let it flow, it felt like something outside of me was guiding my voice — and as it did, that energy was being pulled out of my body, healing me, and then joining the other voices in harmony, creating a song that felt both sacred and alive.

It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I remember feeling completely cracked open, overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the moment, and I began to cry. Those tears held so much — they mourned a loss I was going through, yet at the same time, they marked a profound awakening within me to humanity’s true potential and magic. From that day forward, I made a promise to myself to sing at as many dance events as I could. Singing became a wellspring of joy and healing, weaving a deep sense of connection between my soul, my body, and the community around me.

A couple of weeks ago, my nephews stayed over for a whole week. We turned the living room into a makeshift sleepover fort — blankets everywhere, popcorn bowls within reach, and their favorite drinks (Bubly and hot chocolate lol). Every night was movie night, and they took turns picking what we’d watch.
One evening, my youngest nephew chose K-Pop Demon Hunters. I had never even heard of it before he mentioned it, but apparently it’s the movie for young people right now. Its main song, Golden, is also topping the music charts right now.
I didn’t expect to be so deeply moved by this movie lol. (Fair warning: I’m going to drop a few spoilers here!) The film centers around a pop band called the Huntrix, who double as demon slayers. Their singing and dancing aren’t just performances — they release powerful vibes that vanquish dark forces while lighting up hope and inspiration in their fans. While some might brush this concept off as silly, to me, it felt like another cosmic nod — a sign from the Universe affirming that I’m on the right path. The video that I shared on the last post reminded me of an earlier post I made a couple months ago, "Honouring the Powers Within".
I'll drop the video again here for convenience sake:
To recap the movie, the Huntrix are entrusted to save the world from the demons and darker energy that is trying to take over, a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. When people are marked with the darkness, they show visible marks on their bodies, like the pink lines that you see in the video above. The dancing felt reminiscent to me as well, because as I've mentioned, when I dance sometimes I feel my body just naturally doing martial arts or tai chi. But the music in the movie is the obvious centerpiece of the whole show.
The song below, in particular, tugged at my heartstrings because it mirrored so much of my own journey. Around 4:04, you see the artists fully immersed in the climax of the song— performing and slaying demons simultaneously — inspiring everyone in the audience to join in with their voices, beginning deep in their hearts. Not gonna lie, it quietly brought tears to my eyes (which I tried to hide from my nephews!), because for over a decade, I’ve carried this knowing that the world can truly come together through the power of authentic, collective voices like this.
It reminded me that even amidst the noise, the chaos, and the darkness, there’s a thread of light — a shared rhythm and song that can unite us all, if only we dare to sing it out loud. Music and movement are the keys to help transform the energy within humanity, and change the energy of the entire Universe.
When you allow your voice to sing with the Tao, you open up your Throat Chakra and let your authenticity truly shine. From my own experience, this opened the door to speaking with both authority and love. I found myself more confident, able to speak my truth clearly, and unafraid to express my feelings—whether it was affection or things that needed to be said. When your voice harmonizes in song, communication with others somehow becomes easier.
It’s honestly a kind of magic I’m still learning to understand and embrace.
The Power of Tao Dance
Here is Master Sha's definition of Tao Dance:
"Tao Dance is Tao-guided dance. Tao Dance is not guided by the mind. A Tao Dancer flows movements guided by Tao, which is the Source. He or she does not follow any choreography, formula, or rules. Tao Dance can go beyond the control of the yin yang world."
He goes on to write:
"The energy and light that flow through Tao Dance are beyond imagination. You must do Tao Dance yourself to feel and appreciate its power, magnificence, nourishment, and comfort throughout your whole body. When you do Tao Dance, Tao love, forgiveness, compassion, and light radiate from your soul, heart, mind, and body. You could be deeply moved. Others could also be moved and touched. The beauty and attraction of Tao Dance cannot be expressed by words or comprehended by thoughts."
I have shared many times how much dance has impacted my life and the special relationship I have with dance, which you can review in older posts such as Finding my Dharma, Honouring Your Most Authentic Creative Outlet, 5Rhythms Meets 5 Archetypes, Creativity in Motion, and Honouring the Powers Within. I've written so much about dance already, so let me distill it for the sake of this post - when you are dancing with the Tao, you are tapped into your Flow State, and when you're tapped into your Flow State, you are allowing the Universe to work through you.
As you dance more with the Tao, as you let go and let the intelligence of your body to lead the way, the more you open up to the life that the Universe wants from you, because you are then a collaborator with the Mother Earth that you are made of, allowing the Universal energy to flow through you. You'll notice that you are dancing with the Tao because it feels natural - you allow the music to move you, and it moves you in a way that feels SO GOOD!
I was talking with a good friend the other day, and she said something that perfectly captured what it’s like to live in the Tao. It’s like kayaking on a river—when you paddle against the current, it’s exhausting and you feel like you’re barely moving. But when you let the current carry you, everything becomes easier. The river (the Tao) naturally guides your way forward.
The more you allow yourself to dance with the Tao, the more effortless life feels.
The Connection Between the Tao and Tantra
So why did I post this for Tantra Tuesday? Because in my own experience, the most profound Tantra happens when you are fully moving and speaking from the Tao — no performance, no over-thinking, no expectations — just you, your partner, and Universal energy flowing together to create a magic all its own.
To me, Tantra is not just about physical closeness, intimacy, or having a bomb-ass sex life (all that stuff is just natural bi-products lol). It’s about being a mirror for the person you’re most drawn to — even if it doesn’t make sense at the time. When the yin and yang of both partners align, and each is free to be their authentic self, their energies collide in a way that can heal what holds them back and unlock potential they never knew existed within them.
Here’s a song that encapsulates the love story in the K-Pop Demon Hunters movie — Free. It’s about two characters marked by the darkness within, who, by fate or chance, are pulled together despite coming from competing worlds. They become like medicine for each other’s wounds — not by fixing the other, but by seeing and accepting the scars they’ve both been running from. In doing so, they find the courage to face their own shadows. That, to me, is the essence of true Tantra: when two souls meet and, through authentic connection, give each other the space and safety to heal and grow beyond what they thought was possible.
"We can't fix it if we never face it, let the past be the past till it's weightless"
These words pulled on my heartstrings and brought me right back to my Lion’s Gate Portal post — where I shared that to clear our bad karma, we must offer love, forgiveness, compassion, and light to everything we’ve been running from. Because sometimes our past feels so heavy, especially when you try to bury and forget parts of it; but by expressing it in a healthy manner, you have the opportunity to transform those feelings and memories into something that is more empowering.
Which brings me to the movie’s most iconic song, “Golden.” This track has been viewed over 166 million times (and that’s just from one video), meaning it’s already out there in the collective consciousness, subtly shaping the minds, hearts, and vibrations of a huge slice of the planet.
This song felt so resonant - not only is it super catchy, but the lyrics mirrored something within me that caught my attention, and to be honest, made me cry (again I really tried to hide my tears from my nephews).
I think we can all relate to living secret lives — or at least separate ones. Who we are with our families is often different from who we are with our friends, and that might be different again from who we are with our coworkers. Sometimes we carry demons inside us — fears, desires, or truths — that we conceal because we doubt others will understand, or we want to avoid judgment and criticism.
For example, I’ve never been able to fully dance and sing in front of my family or old friends the way I have at festivals or ecstatic dance events. It’s like there are two sides of me - and the longer I’ve lived in my hometown, the more I adapt to that “home” version of me — and forget the part that comes alive, wild and free, on the dance floor.
That’s why writing these Chronicles here has been so freeing for me. It’s given me a place to gather my thoughts, speak from the heart, and remember what I’m here to do. This space lets me share my experiences, ideas, and what matters most to me in a way that feels true — honest, unfiltered, and fully me.
And the more I express myself here, the more I feel that side of me — the one that’s alive, wild, and true — stepping forward in my everyday life.
To close this post, perhaps the way to become your golden self is to alchemize all that dormant energy — whether dark, hidden, or simply stagnant — and express it into the world in a way that feels good and true for you.
Start by singing and dancing with the Tao, opening yourself to the Universal energy within, and let that same current fuel the confidence to bring more love, forgiveness, compassion, and light into your life.
As we continue this journey together, I invite you to stay tuned for more explorations here on Opulence Vision — from diving deeper into the magic of Tao Dance to unfolding the next archetypes that shape our paths. May this be a space where you feel inspired to awaken your own golden self, step fully into your light, and create ripples of love and transformation in your world.
Until next time, dear Lover, keep dancing with the Tao, and keep shining your unique light.
The journey is just beginning.
